Damage tester
Is there somewhere you can test how much damage you do for a skill set?
If so or if not whats the best way people use to test out and fine tune various builds. if it helps I'm a R/E concentrating on barrage and AoE skillz. |

Master of damage in the isle of the nameless. But you can't really calculate much cause of the variable monster armor levels and skills and what not. Most likely your gonna get more damage if you run r/rt with splinter weapon on your barrage. Or if you bring rit to cast splinter weapon on you and go without conjure xxx so you can bring orders/ physical team to do more damage.

the best ways i'v found to test a build:
pve only: just go out and test it! use it around places and if it owrks in nm and in the general places, then successful testing. pvp only: AB i'v found is a good place to start testing a build because you can design a team for your optimal conditions. after that, i usually move up to RA because it helps test the true diversity of the build. if you go to RA, plz bring rez.... |

The Master of Damage on the Isle of the Nameless is tells you exactly how much damage you do over a period of time and in spikes. Problem with him: you cannot really see the effectiveness of AoE spells like Mark of Pain and you cannot see how skills work that require action from the opponent such as Spiteful Spirit or interrupt skills. Since he is a stationary target that doesn't attack, it is barely a real-life combat situation.
For PvE: To test (team-)builds in a combat situation, I go to the eotn expansion and walk around in Arbor Bay in hard mode. Or I do the eotn mission "Assault on the Stronghold" in hard mode. If I get through the gate on the first try with the first Armored Saurus, I'm quite satisfied. Much of this mission is tactical play, but if your firepower is below a certain threshold you are screwed, and because of this I consider this a valid benchmark. |
